In fact, you should always be thinking about poker odds - yours and your opponents' - when making decisions. In short, poker odds is the probability of you winning that hand, or the price it offers (pot odds). Texas Holdem Heads-Up Preflop Odds. This table was created by enumerating through every possible board and opponent hole card combination for each of the 169 texas holdem preflop starting hands. As a poker player, knowing poker hand odds and rankings is crucial to knowing where you stand when calculating your odds of winning. This guide is for players from beginner to intermediate level – meaning those with a basic knowledge of poker but who don’t know how best to calculate poker odds to gauge the chances of success – and will give you everything you need to beat others when.

The only time that you should ever use the odds for making the best hand over the next two cards combined (e.g. Using 2 to 1 odds instead of 4 to 1 odds for a flush draw) is when your only opponent in all-in on the flop. In this instance, you can guarantee that you won’t face another bet on the turn, as your opponent has no more money to bet.

Texas Hold’em Odds Calculator Instructions

To use the calculator, first select your Hole cards.

Then you have the option to select the Table cards or community. This is optional.

Then you may select any Dead cards. This step is also optional.

Now click in the Against section, and select the hands within your opponent’s range. You can select the PP button at the top right corner to automatically select all pocket pairs.

Please note that when selecting the range of hands of your opponent, you can also differentiate between suited cards (bottom right) versus non-suited hands (top left).

Click Run to calculate the percentages of winning, pushing, and losing. Copy and paste the results in our poker forum to discuss your findings!
